IT ALL STARTED HERE

I love this bag. It reminds me of a time when things were simpler. When we decided to start CĀO, I spent months digging through these old vintage Adidas gym bags, old Pan Am flight bags, I fell in love with the simplistic nature of the shape, but also the nostalgic feeling I would get when looking at them. I started wondering what would these bags look like if we gave them a modern update, but tried to keep the nostalgic look? This was the beginning for me, I was obsessed…

I was obsessed with this idea of creating a product line that was technical, but looked like something else completely, it portrayed this vintage look and feel, but could function in any environment. The more I thought about it the more I dug, the more I researched. As CĀO started to take shape, I was constantly drawing these mock ups, trying my best to marry these two worlds together.

Early renderings

The Gama Air Satchel was born. A simple silhouette, drawing from my complete obsession with the golden age of travel and vintage sport. I was really trying to bring this bag to life in a simple way, while updating the fabric so it was more functional in harsher environments. A bag that could have multiple use cases, while being a true companion in all environments.
